We seek an experienced Google Workspace Administrator / Engineer to serve as the subject‑matter expert and primary technical lead for our enterprise‑scale Google Workspace environment. The role focuses on security, performance, and data migrations in a complex, multi‑domain setting. Key Responsibilities
Google Workspace Administration & Engineering (Complex Environment Focus): Serve as the Tier‑3 escalation point and technical expert for all Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Meet, Vault, etc.) services and related third‑party integrations. Partner with Information Security and IT Teams on the design, implementation, and management of Organizational Units (OUs), security groups, and access policies to ensure a highly secure and compliant environment across thousands of users and multiple domains. Develop and manage automation scripts (e.g., Google Apps Script, Python, PowerShell) for administrative tasks. Proactively monitor system health, performance, and license utilization, implementing optimizations to maintain a world‑class digital workplace. Manage Google Vault retention policies, eDiscovery requests, and compliance mandates (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) with meticulous attention to detail. Partner with Information Security and IT Teams on the management of Chrome Devices and Chrome Browser Management Policies. Partner with Information Security and IT to ensure new Google Workspace features are appropriately secured and managed before rolling out to the user base. Migration & Project Leadership: Lead and execute full‑scale, end‑to‑end data migrations, including email, calendar, and file storage, from Microsoft platforms (Outlook/Exchange/SharePoint/OneDrive) to Google Workspace. Manage and execute complex, high‑stakes Google to Google domain and tenant migrations, ensuring zero data loss and seamless user experience. Develop comprehensive migration project plans, including pre‑migration analysis, data mapping, cutover strategies, and post‑migration validation. Evaluate, implement, and manage enterprise migration tools (e.g., GWMME, third‑party solutions) to ensure efficiency and data integrity. Required Qualifications
3+ years of hands‑on experience as a Google Workspace Administrator/Engineer in a large‑scale (5,000+ users), highly complex enterprise or multi‑tenant environment. Proven, hands‑on experience leading and executing full‑scale cross‑platform data migrations, specifically from Outlook/Exchange and SharePoint/OneDrive to Google Workspace. Expertise in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Google Apps Script) for large‑scale administrative and reporting tasks. Deep knowledge of email protocols (SMTP, DMARC, SPF, DKIM). Exceptional problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications
Google Workspace Certified Administrator certification. Experience administering other cloud platforms, such as Microsoft 365. Familiarity with compliance frameworks relevant to the healthcare/life sciences industry (e.g., HIPAA). Experience with other enterprise collaboration tools and their integrations (e.g., Slack, Atlassian). Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Compensation and Benefits
Chi: $85,000‑$105,000. The expected salary range is applicable if the role is performed from Illinois and may vary for other locations (California, Colorado, New York). Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience.
