What you will do:
As a Senior Electrical Engineer – Power Distribution, you will focus on the design and implementation of power distribution, from incoming utility connections to all major systems and equipment for our pilot, demo and future commercial operations.
Responsibilities include:
Design and implement power distribution systems for pilot plants, demo facilities, and future commercial‑scale operations
Develop single‑line diagrams, load studies, and protective device coordination for evolving plant configurations
Specify and select transformers, switchgear, MCCs, panels, and protective relays that can scale from pilot to full production
Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, OSHA, IEC, and local codes across all phases of scale‑up
Collaborate with process, mechanical, and controls engineers to integrate electrical systems into modular and scalable plant designs
Create electrical load lists and power distribution drawings for electrical installs
Specify and select wire and conduit sizing for electrical installations
Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and reliability improvements during pilot and demo operations
Prepare technical documentation for each scale‑up phase, including drawings, specifications, and test procedures
Conduct arc flash studies, grounding system design, and short‑circuit analysis for safety and reliability at increasing power levels
Manage vendor relationships for electrical equipment procurement and installation across multiple project phases
Manage relationship with local utilities
Contribute to energy‑efficiency and sustainability initiatives, including renewable energy integration and load optimization for commercial facilities
Autonomously lead projects and/or small teams while collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and outside agencies as needed
Familiarity with D/FMEA and PHA, and other failure analysis processes
Develop and maintain documentation, including design specifications, operating procedures, and safety protocols
Read, understand, and comply with all workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and company policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
What we need you to bring to the team:
Professional Engineering license OR EIT certification (or in progress)
8+ years of industry experience working on EPC of greenfield or brownfield project execution from a direct electrical engineering application (excluding internships, co‑ops and other school projects)
Advanced experience with instrumentation such as voltage, amperage, temperature, pressure, level, weight, and flow
Familiarity with high voltage and low voltage electrical design and troubleshooting
Proficiency in ETAP, SKM, Revit, or similar electrical modeling software
Strong knowledge of power system protection, grounding, and fault analysis for multi‑phase scale‑up projects
Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and safety standards
Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration during rapid scale‑up
Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills
Experience and/or interest in mentoring more junior control systems engineers
Proficiency with, or ability to quickly learn, Microsoft Office suite of programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint
What we want you to bring to the team:
10+ years of industry experience working on EPC of greenfield or brownfield project execution from a direct electrical engineering application.
Industrial chemical manufacturing industry experience
Compensation:
The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $105,000–$140,000 and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
