Lead Design Engineer - Substation/Power Distribution

The expected annual salary range for this role is $93,750.03 - $137,500.04 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What You'll Do
Lead medium/high voltage designs for Substations and MV power distribution projects.
Participate in site walk‑downs to assist in developing proposals for new work in the region.
Develop engineering estimates, scope of work, and review technical documents.
Develop drawing packages that include:
Equipment Specifications
Single line/Three‑line drawings
Schematics/Wiring/Interconnection diagrams
General arrangement drawings
Conduit/cable plans
Grounding drawings
AC/DC control power drawings
SCADA and Communication design
Equipment Testing Procedures/Commissioning plans
Various Power Engineering calculations
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
BS in engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of seven (7) years of electrical engineering or electrical design experience OR AS in engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of ten (10) years of electrical engineering or design experience; OR in lieu of degree, minimum twelve (12) years of electrical engineering or design experience.
Must be located in one of the desired locations to be considered including (PA, OH, NY, NJ, IL, MO, MI, MD, DE, IN); relocation will not be considered.
Eaton will not sponsor or support immigration for this position.
Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer qualification.
Field experience in testing/commissioning medium voltage equipment.
Working knowledge of NERC/FERC, NESC, NEC, ANSI, NETA.
Skills
Ability to lead medium/high voltage designs for both substations and MV power distribution.
Participate in site walk‑downs to assist in developing proposals for new work.
Develop engineering estimates to develop scope, budget, and review technical documents.
Ability to develop and maintain schedule/budget.
Ability to work with and mentor other engineers on team.
Understanding of power system studies including short circuit, coordination, and arc flash.
Knowledge, understanding, and execution of turnkey projects.
Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of NERC/FERC, NESC, NEC, ANSI, NETA, IEEE.
