Senior Business Analyst (IT Network/Infrastructure focused)
Location: Newark, NJ
Onsite: 3 days a week
ComTec is looking for a highly analytical and business-focused Business Analyst to evaluate the current state of network and IT infrastructure—from both technical and financial perspectives—and to develop robust financial business cases supporting future initiatives such as network modernization, data center strategy, and corporate headquarters relocation or consolidation.
This role will partner closely with IT Infrastructure, Network Engineering, Finance, and Executive Leadership to ensure technology investments are strategically aligned, financially sound, and value-driven.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and document the current network and infrastructure landscape, including WAN/LAN, data centers, cloud connectivity, security, and operational dependencies.
Assess cost structures for existing infrastructure, including hardware, software, licensing, support contracts, circuits, colocation, and managed services.
Identify inefficiencies, redundancies, risks, and technical debt across the network and data center environments.
Partner with IT and Finance to define future-state scenarios, including:
Data center consolidation, migration, or cloud strategy
Corporate headquarters or office moves and their network/IT implications
Build comprehensive financial business cases, including:
Quantify both hard and soft benefits, including performance, resiliency, security, scalability, and productivity gains.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in IT infrastructure, networking, or enterprise technology environments.
Strong understanding of network and data center technologies (WAN, LAN, SD-WAN).
Proven experience developing financial models and business cases for large-scale IT initiatives.
Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling tools.
Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
