Key job responsibilities We are looking for people that are self‑driven, able to deal with ambiguity, passionate about innovating, working on challenging highly scalable distributed systems problems, and motivated to learn about a broad set of technologies. You will be working daily with your team members across multiple service teams and other technical leaders to advance infrastructure of IoT services. You’ll have opportunities to define technical strategy, solve difficult technical problems, design and develop large system solutions, and to lead projects to improve IoT infrastructure and operational excellence in the org.
Build services and automation to efficiently operate, manage, and scale our growing fleet and customer base.
Be proactive in solving the problems and looking for ways to improve our services and org infrastructure.
Continuously develop systems and automation to improve the availability and reliability of AWS IoT Core services and supporting systems.
Design and build systems and automation to reach performance and scalability goals of AWS IoT Core.
Work with all forms of technical and non‑technical peers to build, deliver, and manage the infrastructure and services across all of AWS IoT.
A successful candidate will be well‑versed in software development practices, have experience with managing and operating large production environments, and a knack for automation and scale. Come and help us grow AWS IoT and build the future of the connected world.

Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
2+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large‑scale infrastructure.
Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
Experience utilizing AWS cloud solutions in a DevOps environment.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
