You will join a team managing the lifecycle of infrastructure and security, enhancing IBM's cloud solutions to ensure enterprises achieve efficiency, security, and scalability in their cloud journey.
Your Role and Responsibilities This role is part of a senior engineering team leading across Cloud Platform Services at HashiCorp. Your scope includes core platform, visibility, identity/IAM, and cloud‑based billing services, delivering the PAAS backbone of the HashiCorp Cloud Platform.
Lead design, prototype, implementation, and operational optimization of features and tools, ensuring stability, performance, and usability.
Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design to enforce best practices for measurable quality and value.
Cultivate excellence in reliability, scalability, security, and software craftsmanship.
Present insights and recommendations to drive data‑driven decision‑making.
Write and maintain RFC documents, engineering documentation, and community artifacts.
Engage open‑source contributors, promote community engagement, and establish standards for effective collaboration.
Provide code review, mentorship, and support to HashiCorp employees, community members, and partners.
Develop modern operationalization tooling to proactively monitor and manage customer experiences.
Contribute to company‑wide initiatives led by EPD management, recruitment, and people teams.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
10+ years of software engineering with large‑scale cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD‑driven development.
8+ years of experience developing and supporting platform and product/application services in a modern PAAS offering.
6+ years experience working with IaC and configuration management tools such as Terraform (preferred), CloudFormation, Pulumi, or Ansible.
6+ years experience in modern IAM (Identity & Access Management) features and enabling platform services.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
Strong functional knowledge of containers, container management, and orchestration.
Understanding of HashiCorp products: Terraform, Nomad, Vault, Consul.
Proficiency in automation principles and pipelines.
Knowledge of cloud security fundamentals, including patch management and secure configurations in regulated environments.
Experience with CICD technologies and practices.
Strong cross‑functional collaboration and influencing skills.
Strategic capability with cloud delivery models.
Agile/Lean background for project delivery.
Deep understanding of advanced security segmentation and controls.
Preferred Education Bachelor's Degree.
