We are hiring a senior leader to accelerate newsroom‑wide adoption.
Role Overview The Head of Newsroom Adoption is a senior, high‑impact operator responsible for driving Qwoted’s penetration inside major media organizations. The role spans evangelism, business development, enterprise sales, strategic partnerships, and change‑management. Your mandate: get Qwoted into the newsroom—and make it indispensable.
Key Responsibilities
Drive Enterprise‑Level Newsroom Adoption: Build, own, and execute Qwoted’s newsroom adoption strategy across top global media brands.
Identify stakeholders: Identify desks, editors, and newsroom stakeholders who influence sourcing practices.
Convert usage: Convert fragmented, individual journalist usage into standardized, organization‑wide workflows.
Leverage industry relationships: Use an extensive personal Rolodex across major newsrooms to gain executive‑level entry and re‑ignite dormant relationships.
Conduct trainings: Conduct high‑touch demos and trainings tailored for assignment editors, managing editors, producers, and standards teams; advocate Qwoted as a tool for faster sourcing, better discovery of experts, newsroom transparency, reducing reliance on PR spam, and elevating underrepresented voices.
Map and influence workflows: Analyze existing sourcing processes, identify friction points, and pilot or embed Qwoted into daily huddles, assignment desks, breaking‑news workflows, investigative research, and beats with fast turnaround.
Partner with Product, Engineering & Data: Translate newsroom feedback into product requirements around vectorized matching, article‑based reporter profiles, relevance scoring, enterprise‑grade newsroom analytics, workflow integrations with Slack, CMS, and internal tools; ensure Qwoted evolves in ways that increase editorial adoption.
Build an Adoption Playbook: Develop repeatable frameworks for onboarding entire newsrooms, document best practices, internal evangelism, desk‑by‑desk rollout, metrics for ROI, and change‑management approaches.
Own KPIs: Drive defined OKRs, including newsroom accounts onboarded, active monthly staff %, volume of expert requests, adoption of new AI features, retention and upsell for enterprise‑level media customers.
Required Experience & Skills
Industry Background: 10+ years in journalism, newsroom leadership, media partnerships, or editorial operations; deep relationships across national, local, and trade media; nuanced understanding of editorial culture.
Sales & Evangelism: Enterprise or B2B evangelism experience with skeptical audiences; strong reputation and credibility in journalism.
Product & Growth: Comfortable partnering with engineering and product; translate qualitative pain points into structured product feedback.
Communication & Influence: Exceptional communicator, adept at handling sensitive conversations around sourcing, bias, and editorial integrity.
Mission Alignment: Genuine commitment to improving journalism, strengthening factual reporting, and helping reporters access expertise.
What Success Looks Like Within 12 months: bring at least 5 major newsroom organizations into structured multi‑desk adoption; create internal champions at every level; establish Qwoted as a daily tool; roll out the Adoption Playbook; generate measurable growth in expert requests and AI‑driven discovery.
