Job Summary:
The Chief Partnership Officer is a leadership position directing collaboration development across WFIRM programs. The role reports to the WFIRM Director and is responsible for setting the vision for the institute’s collaborations, short‑ and long‑term strategies, driving development in a timely manner, meeting institutional standards, and building business plans. He/she will identify and develop domestic translational collaborations, promote innovation, develop and execute strategic strategies, and boost economic growth and sustainability through key collaborations with staff, faculty, academic institutions, life‑science companies and startups, non‑profits, and government agencies.
Major Responsibilities
Develop the strategy for sustaining collaborations with domestic industries, including startups, academics, non‑profits, government, and scientific leaders.
Create novel deal structures, grants, and other funding opportunities that support the sustainability and growth of the Institute.
Source, screen, and recommend enabling partnerships and/or internal capability building to meet the Institute’s mission and vision.
Develop, target, execute, and operationalize strategic programs, projects, and opportunities.
Utilize metrics and root‑cause analysis to enhance effectiveness and ongoing improvement of the Institute’s strategy, programs, and projects.
Engage with external partners to establish and shape the future through the Institute’s strong scientific capabilities.
Partner with other staff to seamlessly integrate new collaborations and capabilities.
Raise issues, escalate concerns, and propose solutions as appropriate for success and sustainability.
Actively participate as a member of the leadership team collaborating with other members to ensure regulatory and translational strategies align with WFIRM objectives.
Education & Experience PhD in a scientific discipline.
Ten (10) years of progressive management experience in academia, business development, finances, strategic planning, and government relations.
Demonstrated leadership competencies in establishing clear direction and objectives, simplifying complex processes, fostering collaboration, business leadership, relationship management, analytical and critical thinking, problem solving, project management, interpersonal communication, and persuasive influence.

Base compensation within the listed pay range.
Premium pay such as shift, on‑call, or other contingency pay as applicable.
