Shift Lead (Walgreens) Base Pay Range: $21.00/hr – $24.00/hr

Responsibilities

Open and close the store in the absence of store management, including system start‑ups, cash handling, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day. Responsible for opening the back door of store for deliveries.

Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change as requested to cash registers.

Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.

Share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.

Hold store keys and open/close without management, as necessary.

Assist and coach other team members to work with the warehouse and vendor ordering process, including opening the backdoor for vendor deliveries.

Register all related sales on the assigned cash register, including records of scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications, and voids.

Assist manager or assistant store manager in reviewing order exceptions on order release day and assisting in reverse logistics (e.g., 1506, returns, empty package).

Assist manager or assistant store manager in evaluating and developing displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise; complete resets and revisions.

Maintain accurate inventory counts and on‑hand quantities in basic departments, stockroom, and overstock locations.

Assist with ensuring the Outdate program is followed with team members.

Be responsible for basic department pricing and making daily price changes; ensure proper signage is displayed to support accurate pricing of products.

Assist with bookkeeping activities, including cash report, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payments as necessary.

Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring a clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance, including requesting store or system repairs as required.

Assist with separation of food items and product placement as specified by policies/procedures; assist in stock rotation using the first‑in, first‑out method and restock outs.

Maintain working knowledge of store systems and store equipment.

Assist at Pharmacy outlet window as requested.

Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.

Be responsible for bag checks of team members before leaving the store.

Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.

Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Attend training and complete PPLs requested by manager.

Serve as liaison between management and non‑management team members by communicating assigned tasks.

Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.

Basic Qualifications

One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.

Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico)

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of store inventory control.

Consideration of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Obtains and maintains valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
