About the Role As a Project Engineer at DeSimone Consulting Engineering, you’ll play a key role in the structural design process—supporting projects from concept through construction. This role offers hands‑on experience with design and analysis tools, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and opportunities to grow your technical expertise while learning project‑management fundamentals.
What You’ll Do
Perform structural design and analysis using tools such as Revit, Rhino, ETABS, and SAP.
Assist in preparing drawings, calculations, and documentation for design deliverables.
Coordinate with architects, clients, and other design team members to ensure design alignment.
Conduct field observations and inspections under the guidance of senior engineers.
Maintain accurate records of design decisions, calculations, and project documentation.
Contribute to project planning and scheduling discussions with Project Managers.
Apply knowledge of structural codes, standards, and materials to design solutions.
Support quality assurance efforts by reviewing drawings and checking design accuracy.
What We’re Looking For
BS or MS in Structural/Civil Engineering.
3–5 years of experience in structural design or analysis preferred.
Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, and structural analysis software such as ETABS and SAP.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and grow within a dynamic engineering team.
Minimum (Required) Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field; and five (5) years of experience in design and analysis of mid to high rise buildings utilizing software packages such as ETABS, RAM, RISA, and SAFE; or
Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field; and three (3) years of experience in design and analysis of mid to high rise buildings utilizing software packages such as ETABS, RAM, RISA, and SAFE.
Three years of relevant experience in analyzing building structures using computer modeling methods and preparing structural calculations.
Extensive knowledge of local and national building codes and design practices.
Knowledge of standard construction practices and the ability to work with contractors to address construction issues.
Experience working in Revit.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Detail oriented with strong interpersonal, problem solving and team skills.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Master’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field.
EIT (Engineer in Training) certification or PE (Professional Engineer) license.
Experience working in Grasshopper, a plus.
Salary This position is classified as salaried, exempt. The hiring salary range for this role is anticipated to be $80,000–$95,000, dependent upon experience and qualifications.
