Job Title:
Electrical Drafter / Designer – Refinery & Terminal Operations
Location:
1001 Louisiana St, Houston, TX 77002
Type:
Indefinite Contract
Hybrid Schedule:
3 days in office (flexible 8-hour shifts)
Travel:
Up to 10% (occasional trips to California, Georgia, and local Houston sites)
Start Date Goal:
February 2026
About the Role
Our client is expanding its maintenance and operations team to support growing workload within refinery and facility systems. This newly created role focuses on the maintenance and upkeep of electrical systems that support tank terminals and inbound/outbound transport facilities (rail, barge, truck).
Roughly 75% of the responsibilities will center on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of control systems — an excellent fit for someone who values hands‑on work over design‑only environments.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and support electrical systems including PLCs and PACs across refinery and terminal facilities.
Draft, design, and update electrical schematics and layouts in AutoCAD.
Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, and repair of existing systems as part of the preventative maintenance program.
Ensure cable tray layouts are properly routed and compliant with design specifications.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers during site reviews to verify existing system integrity.
Required Qualifications
10+ years
of experience within refinery/facility environments, specifically midstream to downstream infrastructure (tank terminals, and inbound/outbound rail, barge, and truck operations).
Proven experience maintaining and troubleshooting
electrical systems (PLCs, PACs)
— 75% of daily work will be maintenance related.
AutoCAD proficiency
for drafting and designing control system diagrams and layouts.
Preferred Skills
Experience installing or reviewing
cable tray lines
and verifying existing setup accuracy.
Familiarity with
PLC/PAC systems
such as _Allen Bradley ControlLogix 1756_ or similar platforms using Ethernet/IP protocols.
