An Inspector Calibration Administrator job opportunity is open with our client in Torrance, CA. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that your company provides a quality product to customers through diligent and effective inspection of products and materials and effective metrology administration, control of equipment, tools and materials.
To be considered for this role you will have a 1.5+ years experience in Metrology administration preferred and 3.5 years experience IPC-A_610 and /or J-STD-001, Class 3.
Job Duties
Administrate and maintain the calibration system complying with AS9100 and ISO 17025 for equipment such as torque tools, oscilloscopes, RF antennas, force gages, thread gages, among others.
Update calibration system cycle inventory and enforce calibration, FOE/FOD, and ESD protocols.
Request quotes from main calibration houses, generate purchasing requisition, and record non-conforming equipment in our Quality Applications and ERP System.
All equipment and tools are outsourced for calibration.
Perform Quality Assurance related tasks in support of engineering and operations, including incoming, in-process, and final inspection.
Review supporting data and documentation, and generate inspection records.
Create and submit Purchase Requisition (PR) to procurement for Purchase Order release.
Coordinate with operations on site calibration schedule for stationary equipment.
Other activities related to QA LAB and calibration.
Support QA LAB receiving inspection area.
Work sitting/standing 90/10, wearing smocks for ESD and FOD control.
Assist with equipment weighing over 30lbs as required.
Package tools for external calibration.
Knowledge / Skills / Education / Experience
1.5+ years experience in metrology administration preferred.
3.5 years experience IPC-A_610 or J-STD-001, Class 3.
Perform ESD verification on ESD monitors and mats.
Understanding of electronics functioning preferred.
Mechanical inspection preferred.
Familiar with ISO 17025, INSI/NCSL Z540.1 or other metrology standards preferred.
Experience with mechanical inspection tools.
Experience with a Quality Application such as TIPQA or Oracle preferred.
Experience with Deltek Costpoint ERP System preferred.
Detail oriented, organized, and able to work under pressure in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience working in an ISO‑9001 and/or AS9100 Quality System environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
HS Diploma or equivalent GED or years of experience.
