Position: Part‑time, 7 hours per week, non‑exempt. Eligible only to enrolled American University students. Current employees must apply via Workday.
Summary Work closely with a professor to support teaching and research. Strong academic background, excellent communication, passion for education.
Essential Functions
Teaching Assistance – Prepare course materials, conduct tutorials, workshops, lab sessions, provide support, grade assignments, keep attendance records.
Research Assistance – Collaborate on projects, conduct literature reviews, assist in data collection and analysis, contribute to publications.
Administrative Tasks – Organize academic events, seminars, workshops.

Salary Range
$17.95 per hour
Required Education And Experience
Good academic standing with strong GPA
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to convey complex concepts clearly
Familiarity with research methodologies, data analysis, literature review
Previous research experience is an asset
Strong interpersonal skills
Effective organizational and time‑management skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
