Summary The Staff Accountant, reporting to Regional Financial Reporting Manager, handles financial close processes, prepares accurate reports, reconciles accounts, and collaborates with stakeholders to ensure compliance and accuracy. They support budgeting, audits, and process improvements while assisting with special projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support the management team in the financial close processes and general accounting and tax functions including but not limited to the following:

Prepare complete and accurate journal entries.

Reconcile, analyze, and adjust GL accounts and maintain accurate details in support of the general ledger account balances.

Oversee accounting operations or a complex segment of the accounting function.

Prepare, analyze and review monthly financial statements and all supporting schedules for the local and group consolidations, annual audit, and tax requirements.

Prepare variance analysis and correct errors/resolve discrepancies.

Prepare bank reconciliations including foreign bank accounts.

Correspond with corporate office, tax authorities, external auditors, and others as needed to correctly account for and report financial information.

Collaborate with other departments to achieve accurate and prompt financial reporting.

Assist management team in process improvement initiatives in all disciplines of accounting including documenting procedures, work instructions, and process flow memos.

Support management team with special projects and other related duties.

Support Financial Planning and Budgeting team with the annual budgeting process and ad‑hoc accounting information and analysis.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business‑related field.

Minimum 3‑5 years’ experience in accounting.

Strong analytical skills – Proficiency with analytical tools.

Experience with SAP and/or Power BI highly preferred.

Work Location This position is located in New Jersey and reports to the Florham Park, NJ office. Incumbents of this position are required to work a hybrid schedule (3x per week in the office‑Tues mandatory +2).

Language Skills Proficiency in the English language both written and verbal is required. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Effective in gathering and analyzing disparate data elements as well as presenting information and responding to inquiries from groups of managers, customers, the general public and global colleagues.

Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient knowledge of Payroll systems; Human Resource systems; Database software; Microsoft Excel and Word.

Compensation After thorough market analysis, LAPP takes many factors into consideration when determining base salary such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, etc. of the candidate. The base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $85,000 plus participation in LAPP's bonus plan.
