GENERAL PURPOSE SUMMARY Directs and provides strategic oversight to multiple business and support units; ensures internally developed and vendor provided software platforms have integrity and are accurate by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Directs all internal and external support requests for assigned software solutions and vendor modules. Sets the highest level of expectations and standards for both internal-facing and direct customer support.
Provides expert counsel and advice to technical staff in troubleshooting and/or resolving system problems; often works with new issues that have never occurred before, and provides counsel to technical staff in finding resolutions. Provides regular updates to senior management on all technical issues.
Manages the acquisition and/or development and implementation, and ongoing maintenance of banking software applications; coordinates new product implementation schedules to ensure timely completion by working with development staff, user departments, marketing and compliance personnel; reviews software specifications, technical solutions, testing, and supporting documents ensuring and maintaining accuracy of information.
Serves as a liaison between bank's end users, customers, software development staff, and vendors; analyzes bank-wide work processes to enable the most effective use of software defining training and documentation needs; coordinate requests for information, assistance, and software enhancements.
Resolves discrepancies in the accuracy and validity of bank and customer data, working with appropriate bank staff and vendors to make necessary corrections to software design or to develop enhancement requests with vendors.
Acts as internal consultant to all divisions of the bank, providing technical guidance and recommendations on complex information systems projects, maintaining full technical knowledge of banking software through continued education and vendor interactions; oversees access controls for the appropriate systems and any necessary changes to baseline templates.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
COMPLIANCE EXPECTATIONS
Ensure business unit’s operations comply with bank policy, procedures, and banking regulations (for business unit heads).
Ensure you and your delegates have adequate and current compliance training, and ensure training is completed on time.
Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations.
Ensure you and your delegates comply with the bank’s policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
Maintain customer confidence and protect the bank’s operations by you and your delegates identifying and protecting confidential information.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Manages employees in assigned units or section. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and making recommendations regarding the hiring and terminating of employees.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
Bachelor's degree in business, technology or related field and six years banking experience relevant to the functions of the assigned unit; or eight years banking experience and/or training relevant to the functions of assigned units; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience. Two years supervisory/management experience. Understanding of banking data and processes such as deposits, loans, accounting, and debit and credit card processing.
Preferred:
Four years supervisory/management experience. Experience with systems development and integration. Understanding of banking data and processes such as deposits, loans, accounting, and debit and credit card processing.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to keyboard 45 wpm and operate 10-key calculator required; word processing, spreadsheet, and Outlook software experience required. Experience with database management concepts, in hierarchical, relational or flat systems preferred. The ability to multi task and manage several high priority deadlines is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to the prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions.
REASONING SKILLS:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract variables.
