OVERVIEW
The Senior Director of Project & Product Management (PMO) is a leadership role responsible for orchestrating the successful delivery of a large, visible, and complex portfolio of technology and business initiatives. This role integrates project management, product management, business analysis, UX research, and UX design to deliver technology solutions at scale.
This leader will set direction, establish standards, and lead from the front; bringing clarity, accountability, and momentum to cross‑functional teams while maintaining strong executive and stakeholder alignment. The role requires a highly visible presence, comfort engaging with senior leaders, and the ability to confidently manage loud, diverse, and sometimes competing stakeholder interests.
Flexible for local candidates or relocation. $10k relocation package provided as part of compensation package.
Hybrid: 3+ days onsite weekly – more expected in the first 3-6 months to build relationships with stakeholders
RESPONSIBILITIES Portfolio Leadership & Execution
Lead and oversee a diverse portfolio of technology and business initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and priorities.
Implement and maintain portfolio health reviews, standardized delivery processes, and clear performance metrics.
Drive execution discipline while balancing speed, quality, and organizational change management.
Executive & Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as a visible, trusted partner to senior executives.
Proactively engage in executive forums, all‑hands meetings, and high‑stakes discussions to ensure transparency and alignment.
Navigate complex stakeholder dynamics with confidence, decisiveness, and diplomacy.
Team Leadership & Culture
Lead from the front by modeling accountability, presence, and action‑oriented leadership.
Build trust and morale through consistent communication, empathy, and clear expectations.
Balance care for people with performance accountability, fostering a culture of respect, ownership, and delivery excellence.
Orchestration Across Functions
Coordinate work across project management, product management, business analysis, UX research, UX design, and engineering teams.
Ensure seamless collaboration between technology PMO and business operations PMO functions.
Remove obstacles, resolve dependencies, and keep teams focused on outcomes.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
Establish scalable delivery frameworks that support both innovation and operational stability.
Identify risks early and take decisive action to mitigate them.
Continuously improve portfolio execution practices based on data, feedback, and results.
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated
executive leadership experience
managing large, complex, and highly visible organizations or portfolios.
Strong
project and portfolio management orchestration skills , with a proven ability to coordinate across diverse teams and functions.
Clear ability to
lead from the front , including comfort facilitating all‑hands meetings and engaging directly with senior leaders.
High comfort level working with
outspoken, high‑energy, and demanding stakeholders .
Track record of restoring trust, improving morale, and driving results in challenging leadership environments.
Experience in both
technology PMO and business operations PMO
environments.
Prior
corporate leadership experience , bringing strong enterprise‑scale execution and operational discipline.
Technical understanding sufficient to establish credibility with engineering teams (not required to be hands‑on).
PMP certification is a plus, but not required; focus is on results, leadership, and execution.
