Having depth and breadth of knowledge designing and architecting in a large-scale distributed environment is a strength you'll need. Outstanding problem-solving abilities and a comprehensive understanding of the network security protocols & standards, routing, switching, automation and deep understanding of fundamental network theory will help you succeed.

Description The Systems and Infrastructure team builds and manages world class services and physical infrastructure for Apple software engineers world wide to build, test, and release Apple's software.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain network technology roadmap and define network strategy

Define architecture, design, and deployment of networks supporting Apple's test device farm, aligning with business objectives

Partner with software and hardware teams to deliver scalable, highly available networks for extreme-performance workloads

Drive technology adoption, vendor engagement, and lifecycle management for networking hardware and software

Participate in PagerDuty rotation assisting with incidents, help identify root cause, remediation plans, and insure fixes are implemented

Represent network strategy in business planning and communicate complex concepts to partners and stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications

10+ years of experience in large-scale data center network architecture and WiFi design

BS, BA, or BEng degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience

Deep knowledge of multi-site networking, routing, switching, firewalls, and security frameworks

Executive-level presentation skills, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to bridge the gap between business and technology

Experience working cross functionally to resolve complex issues and meet project timelines

Preferred Qualifications

Automation tools that eliminate routine tasks. Every manual process is an opportunity to code a solution

Hands‑on experience designing secure wired & WiFi networks

Ability to lead network projects and roadmap for the organization

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,300 and $263,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
