Head of Sales Retail is a senior member of the BU Retail leadership team with significant responsibility to advance and deliver the overall culture and performance of the BU. The successful candidate will be accountable to lead a large-size sales team to exceptional performance and engagement and responsible to deliver >300m USD in retail.
Responsibilities
Sales Strategy and Operations
Lead the development and implementation of a holistic sales approach.
Consistently monitor and optimize target group definitions, operational priorities and the customer engagement focus of the sales team.
Stay updated with industry patterns, regulatory amendments, market openings, partnerships, and market dynamics to adjust the business plan as needed.
Lead the sales strategy and ensure a seamless implementation.
Manage FF performance, resource allocation, effectiveness and efficiency and secure all relevant SFE KPIs are met, tracked and reported.
Liaise and align in close collaboration with the Head KAM and WHS to ensure seamless integration with key account initiatives.
Ensure targeted execution of marketing plan.
Deliver financial targets and maximize growth
Meet or exceed sales targets (including market share/market share growth) within agreed time scales.
Set and embrace ambitious goals and ensure delivery.
Seek growth opportunities, prepare business cases and implement agreed opportunities.
Leadership and Team Development
Nurture a positive, high‑performing, results‑driven team.
Coach team members.
Management of recruitment, performance, development, and retention of team members.
Mentor and develop team members, fostering an environment of continuous growth and learning.
Act as a senior member of the BU retail leadership team and excel at senior management exposure and effectively conduct yourself at a peer‑to‑peer leadership level.
Contribute and support to the development and refinement of the BU Retail strategy, priorities and culture.

What you’ll bring to the role
University degree in Business, Pharmaceutical, Life sciences or related topic and a minimum of 5 years' experience across different functions, e.g. sales, marketing, commercial excellence, portfolio, medical.
Proven ability to engage, inspire and performance manage diverse teams.
Robust commercial acumen within pharma sales and marketing.
Highly analytical, with a strong understanding of financial planning and forecasting.
Ability to communicate effectively to different audiences.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience of building an inclusive and diverse working environment.
Visible perception of consistent motivation, resilience, optimism, and openness to change.
Hands‑on management style with the ability to navigate complex relationships.
The highest standard of personal ethics and integrity.
Fluency in French, German and English (written and spoken).
Location and working arrangements Field based
Travel required on average 40%
