Summary:
Searching for a physician who is board-eligible or board-certified in internal medicine, family medicine, or emergency medicine and is experienced in primary care to provide on-site services full-time to the female population at this correctional facility. The schedule is weekdays (no evenings, weekends, or holidays) with start/end times that have some flexibility based on the needs of the facility. On-call coverage is not required. The assignment is projected to last at least 6 months but may be extended based on mutual agreement. The assignment could lead to permanent hire.
Job description:
Working collaboratively with intra and interdepartmental staff to administer treatment for patients utilizing nationally recognized treatment standards and documenting utilizing an electronic health record system
Conducting exams and writing evaluations and reports
Ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing
Managing medication
Completing reclassifications and other reviews as indicated
Making referrals for specialized care or treatment
Performing duties in accordance with scope of practice, ODRC policies, procedures, protocols, and related American Correctional Association standards
Participating in Continuous Quality Improvement meetings and activities, including peer reviews
Engaging in collaborative agreements, as needed
Caseload: Up to 2.5 patients/hour
Required:
BLS/CPR certification
Ohio Medical License
American Board Certification
Drug Enforcement Administration certification
