We are looking for a seasoned Data Scientist to work with our team of Data Scientists and Engineers, focusing on Generative AI technology for Federal use cases. The ideal candidate is a technologist with excellent communication, customer service skills, and a passion for data and problem solving.
Contributions
- Design and train advanced machine learning models, including generative models like GANs, VAEs, or transformer-based models.
- Collaborate with ML Engineers and Software Developers to transition models from R&D to production.
- Stay updated with AI research and trends to implement cutting-edge solutions.
- Evaluate foundation models (e.g., GPT, LLaMA, Claude) on domain-specific tasks, fine-tune them, and align outputs with user needs.
- Design prompts, few-shot examples, and system instructions to optimize LLM behavior in constrained environments.
- Identify, clean, label, and synthesize high-quality datasets for training and fine-tuning.
- Design experiments to evaluate generative model behavior and define benchmarks using metrics like BLEU, ROUGE, perplexity, and human evaluations.
- Leverage and integrate data management tools at scale, with cloud experience preferred.
- Support an Agile software development lifecycle.
- Contribute to the growth of our AI & Data Exploitation Practice.
Qualifications
- Ability to hold a position of public trust with the US government.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or scientific discipline.
- 2-4 years of industry experience developing ML/AI solutions, with a portfolio of relevant projects.
- Hands-on experience in building and deploying generative models.
- Proficiency in Python and strong coding practices.
- Experience with AI frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or JAX.
- Deep knowledge of NLP techniques and experience with large language models (e.g., GPT, LLaMA, Claude).
- Experience with data labeling, synthetic data generation, and data governance.
- Proficiency with ML tooling and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with DevSecOps and MLOps.
- Optional skills: Data visualization, Elasticsearch, AWS Kendra, Azure Cognitive Search.
