Appointments Committee

Purpose: The Appointments Committee recruits volunteers for UUA Board-appointed Committees and for elected committees when there is a mid-term vacancy.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Publicize committee openings (volunteer opportunities)
2. Interview volunteers
3. Check references
4. Communicate with committee chairs
5. Communicate with the Board
6. Communicate with the Nominating Committee

Skills Needed: Communication skills, teamwork, follow-through, reliability, self-directed, discretion.

Length of Term: 2 years, with up to 3 renewals, for a total of 8 years.

Meetings: 2 in-person meetings; others via Zoom as needed; attendance at GA expected.

Length of Meetings: Winter: 2 days; GA: 1 day; others: 1-2 hours.
