Responsibilities

  • Develop software on the engineering team, promoting the creation of elegant, practical solutions to meet company's business goals.
  • Analyze system specifications and translate system requirements to task specifications for team members.
  • Provide accurate effort estimates for deliverables through follow up of tasks with team members.
  • Research and actively learn about new technologies and introduce them into company infrastructure.
  • Resolve technical issues escalated by junior developers under consultation with Sureify management.
  • Analyze, evaluate and recommend new applications and technology appropriate to the company.
  • Manage priorities and work in a fast paced environment to develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Motivate staff in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment to modify existing software to correct errors, and to improve its performance.
  • Use strong organizational and communication skills to analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Integrate PHP and MySQL knowledge related development technologies.
  • Use bug/task tracking application skills to design, develop and modify software systems.
  • Assist with technology strategy for technology platforms, partnerships, and external relationships.
  • Help establish technical standards and ensure adherence to them for product development and company operations.
  • Conduct code reviews and specification conformance testing; establish quality assurance processes, application deployment process, and a security process.
  • Assist the Sales team with technical aspects in Pre‑Sales activity.
  • Design and maintain a high‑performance life insurance platform.
  • Develop production‑level product code using React and TypeScript.
  • Ensure data integrity through efficient relational database design.
  • Implement and optimize workflows using Temporal.
  • Leverage AWS services such as ECS, EC2, RDS, and S3 for cloud deployments.
  • Conduct mentorship programs for junior developers.
  • Ensure high test coverage and secure coding practices.
  • Work 100% remote from anywhere in the United States, reporting virtually to corporate HQ in San Jose, California.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related (or foreign degree equivalent).
  • 7 years in software development or technical architecture, including experience in software development and architecture.
  • Experience architecting and developing scalable, secure modules for an insurance platform.
  • Building SDKs and frameworks for backend (PHP, Golang) and frontend (React, TypeScript).
  • Guiding development teams in implementing best practices and system architecture.
  • Maintaining architectural documentation and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Optimizing system performance and scalability through continuous monitoring.
  • Android Application Development: developing REST APIs using PHP frameworks (CodeIgniter, Laravel) and integrating Android applications with backend APIs.
  • Applying test‑driven development to improve software quality.
  • Building responsive frontend interfaces ensuring accessibility compliance.
  • Strong background in cloud computing, DevOps, and full‑stack development.
  • Proficiency in Golang, PHP (Laravel, CodeIgniter), TypeScript; MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis; React, Bootstrap, CSS.
  • Experience with AWS services (ECS, EC2, S3, RDS), Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD (Jenkins).
  • Familiarity with GitHub, JIRA, microservices, distributed systems, API design, WCAG compliant coding.

Base annual salary: $264,514—$264,514 USD
