Position Summary
We are looking for a proactive accounting leader to assist in managing core financial operations and reporting. This role partners closely with the Controller to ensure accurate financial results, maintain compliance, and strengthen internal controls. The Assistant Controller will oversee critical accounting processes, contribute to strategic financial decisions, and collaborate across departments to support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate results while coordinating with field teams on accruals and estimates. Prepare complex accounting entries, including asset retirement obligations and depletion calculations. Develop and deliver operational performance reports for leadership on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Analyze financial data to improve reporting accuracy and enhance control processes. Serve as a liaison with external auditors for annual audits and tax filings. Assist in preparing complete financial statements, including cash flow and footnote disclosures. Compile monthly compliance packages for banking covenants. Partner with Treasury to maintain hedge positions and support cash and debt forecasting. Contribute to process improvements and other projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong background in financial reporting and audit coordination. Advanced Excel proficiency and solid understanding of GAAP principles. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
