Base pay range

$300,000.00/yr - $358,000.00/yr

Diality is a medical device company focused on developing solutions to improve lives impacted by kidney disease. Diality offers the Moda-flx Hemodialysis System, a user-friendly, mobile, and connected hemodialysis system designed to maximize clinical flexibility and ease-of-use for both clinical and non-clinical users. The Moda-flx Hemodialysis system combines flow rate capabilities of conventional in-center dialysis devices with a fully integrated reverse osmosis (RO) water filtration system to provide a broad range of prescriptions and meet the needs of any professional dialysis care setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic & Executive Leadership: Partner with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on long-range strategic planning, corporate development, and growth initiatives.
  • Provide input into the company’s business plan, commercial strategy, and capital strategy and prepare the organization for key corporate milestones and financial transactions.
  • With the COO co-develop key performance indicators and dashboards that align with Diality’s strategic objectives.
  • Partner with the Executive Leadership Team for scenario planning and risk-adjusted strategy development
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver operational improvements and efficiencies as the company scales.
  • Support board governance, committee oversight, and corporate reporting requirements and act as a liaison to Audit committee and Compensation committee.
  • Create and establish annual financial objectives and budgets aligned to the company’s strategic growth plans.
  • Oversee all aspects of corporate finance, including accounting, treasury, tax planning, cash management, and investor relations and preparations for public markets.
  • Responsible for capital allocation discipline and cash runway management.
  • Review and analyze financial results, providing actionable recommendations to the CEO and executive team.
  • Manage financial due diligence, data rooms, and reporting for M&A activity, equity raises, and strategic partnerships and public offerings.
  • Co-manage fundraising activities in close collaboration with the CEO, including equity raises, debt financing, and investor engagement.
  • Select, engage, and manage consultants, bankers, lenders, and other third-party financial partners and Oversee auditors and tax advisors.
  • Oversee the work of the Accounting and Financial Planning teams through the VP of Finance.
  • Ensure compliance with evolving accounting, tax, and MedTech industry regulations including PCAOB, SOX, ASC606 and public reporting.

Human Resources Oversight:

  • Oversee HR strategy, ensuring talent acquisition, retention, and development support the company’s growth trajectory.
  • Manage total employee short term and long-term compensation, equity, and benefit strategies, maximizing competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.
  • Foster a high-performance, values-driven culture that aligns with Diality’s mission.
  • Oversee talent management across the organization to attract, hire, retain, manage, and motivate employees through the HR team.
  • Implement performance management, leadership development, and succession planning frameworks through the HR team.
  • Responsible for compliance with labor regulations in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Oversee all open legal matters involving the company, as well as broader industry legal developments.
  • Partner with external counsel on corporate governance, contracts, employment law, and compliance.
  • Oversee contract negotiation and lifecycle management with customers, suppliers, and partners.
  • Oversight of contract risk assessment frameworks.
  • Manage corporate risk profile, policies, and insurance coverage to protect company assets and reputation.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders on intellectual property strategy and protection.
  • Work with leadership team and internal stakeholders to ensure corporate compliance with FDA, EU MDR, HIPAA, labor law, and other MedTech regulatory requirements.
  • Oversight of crisis management planning.
  • Provide strategic oversight of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data governance.
  • Ensure scalable systems for collaboration, knowledge management, and business continuity.
  • Responsible for data privacy compliance (HIPAA, CCPA, GDPR).
  • Drive digital information initiatives to support business scale including AI/automation adoption for Accounting, Finance, and Operations.

Education & Experience:

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in finance within MedTech. Biotech or healthcare may be considered.
  • Proven track record as a CFO.
  • Senior finance executive with exposure to HR, Legal, and IT functions preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, investor relations, and strategic partnerships.
  • Deep understanding of MedTech regulatory and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong background in corporate governance, risk management, M&A due diligence and IPO readiness.
  • Exceptional leadership, strategic acumen, analytical, and communication skills with ability to influence at Board and investor levels.
  • Experience leading IPO preparation or public company reporting strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of corporate finance, strategic planning, tax, and compliance frameworks.
  • M&A experience, including diligence, negotiation, and integration planning.
  • Familiarity with GAAP, SOX readiness, ERP implementation, and financial systems optimization.
  • Capital markets experience (private and public) with strong investor presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement scalable financial systems and controls.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to be onsite in Irvine, CA 3 days per week.
  • This position primarily works in an office environment.
  • It requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required.
  • May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities.

Travel:

  • Ability to occasionally travel domestically and internationally.
