Overview Scale AI is looking for an experienced leader to build and lead our Finance team. In this role you will develop and execute financial strategies to support growth, manage capital raising, and partner closely with C‑Suite leaders on high‑priority business decisions. You will help shape the future of our AI business and drive operational excellence across a fast‑growing organization.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute financial strategies that support Scale’s growth objectives, including capital raising, strategic planning, and budgeting.
Create internal executive reporting including close, financial reporting, board and investor reporting, and other management presentations.
Act as a thought partner to all business leaders, resolving competing priorities and determining proper investment allocation by department and business unit.
Lead the preparation of financial analysis, business insights, and presentation materials for regular updates to the leadership team.
Lead, grow, and develop a high‑performing finance team.
Partner with accounting to support month‑end close, financial suite review processes, and deliver high‑quality financial reporting.
Own and create financial models, including forecasting, budgeting, and cash burn analysis, and develop reports to monitor key metrics.
Design, automate, and optimize flexible finance processes to meet the needs of a dynamic, fast‑growing environment.
Partner with cross‑functional teams to develop and prioritize strategic initiatives that drive revenue growth, cost optimization, and operational efficiency.
Own and refine the financial systems roadmap in partnership with the Business Transformation team.
Qualifications
Minimum 4+ years of financial analysis experience in Corporate Finance or Strategic Finance.
Minimum 4 years of experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, Hedge Funds, or Growth Equity funds.
Deep understanding of B2B SaaS businesses and scaling a technology company.
Experience improving and streamlining processes, developing solutions to operational inefficiencies, and managing large data sets.
Expert Excel modeling skills and experience with Salesforce.
Strong executive presence and interpersonal skills, able to lead discussions with the Executive Team.
Demonstrated ability to lead and grow a high‑functioning finance team and deliver quality results as a leader.
Experience with financial systems such as Anaplan or Adaptive Insights.
Nice to Have
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field.
IPO experience.
Experience with SQL and Business Intelligence tools.
Compensation Base salary range for San Francisco: $235,200—$294,000 USD plus equity and benefits.
Benefits include comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, retirement benefits, a learning stipend, generous PTO, and a commuter stipend.
