We are a compassionate anesthesia group in Texas delivering professional quality care to our long-held and evolving list of surgery centers, surgical hospitals, and newly added office-based anesthesia clients.
What is office-based anesthesia (OBA)?
At Southwest, we provide a comprehensive peri‑operative solution for physicians, surgeons, and dentists performing procedures in the medical office space. Our team of anesthesiologists, certified registered nurse anesthetists, and registered nurses provide pre‑operative, anesthetic, and post‑operative care for various office‑based surgical procedures. The Southwest OBA model is that of a traveling surgery center – we provide all of the same medications, supplies, equipment, and emergency preparedness, but at the physician's office. Our safety, quality, and patient satisfaction are second to none!
Salary, Benefits, Opportunity Details, and Qualifications
1099:
Starting at $200/hour (PRN‑RATE ONLY); New grad: $350,000/year
2 years to PARTNERSHIP for full‑time W‑2 only – Shares awarded for tenure and leadership roles
6 ASCs, 1 Endoscopy Center (GI is 95% of the caseload). Providers will be credentialed at more than one facility to provide flexibility (e.g., early out requests)
No OB, no hearts, no trauma, no neonates, no transplant – you go home when you're done
No in‑house call. Southwest call is late day on the schedule, most finishing at 7 pm
Cases on Saturdays in November and December
Regional anesthesia training preferred; Southwest pays for providers to attend the Maverick Regional Anesthesia Course in Fort Worth
40–50 hours/week, seasonal variation, sometimes less than 40 hours/week
Qualifications
ABA board certified or eligible (should be certified within 7 years after residency)
Willingness to work independently in a fast‑paced, ambulatory environment
Reliable transportation and willingness to drive to our client's office
Benefits, PTO, 401(k), Insurance, CME, FSA/HSA, Disability
Reasonable PTO package (plus 7 holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day); PTO is available to full‑time employees; accrual begins on the first date of employment
Health (medical) insurance is offered, currently BCBS; Dental and Vision insurance available (effective 30 days after employment)
401(k) with company match (effective 90 days after employment)
Paid CME/licensure (up to $3,000/year)
Paid short‑term disability (Company paid, 60% of salary)/Long‑term disability
FSA (available to all FT employees)
HSA available with a compatible insurance plan
