Backend Engineer – Keepsafe Software
Keepsafe is a leader in the consumer privacy space with over 100 million users worldwide. Our flagship photo vault protects personal pictures, videos, and documents on iOS and Android. As a fully‑remote team with monthly in‑person meet‑ups, we are looking for exceptional engineers to build the next generation of our mobile privacy products.
Overview As an engineer at Keepsafe, you will serve millions of people who use our apps daily. You will design, own, and scale significant parts of our backend infrastructure, collaborating with product, design, and other engineering teams to make impactful decisions.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain backend services using Python 3.x.
Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate with mobile clients.
Build secure, scalable, and fast infrastructure including cloud sync, real‑time communication, and analytics.
Own deployment pipelines and infrastructure as code.
Collaborate on product roadmap, architecture discussions, and security reviews.
Write high‑quality, testable code with a focus on maintainability.
Mentor peers and contribute to open‑source projects where applicable.
Qualifications
Strong software engineering skills; code first, degree second.
2+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with Python async (asyncio, aiohttp) and backend frameworks.
Proficient in designing API gateways, rate limiting, auth, and caching.
Experience with AWS, DynamoDB, Postgres, and message queues (SQS, Pub/Sub).
Understanding of encryption, key management, and secure coding practices.
Solid DevOps fundamentals: CI/CD, container orchestration, monitoring, and IaC.
Strong communication and independent work ethic.
