Job Summary The Nursing Imaging Director provides strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for all nursing functions across Diagnostic Imaging, Interventional Radiology, and associated ambulatory and inpatient radiology services across all business units. This leader is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, workforce planning, and operational excellence within a complex, high-acuity, multi-modality environment. The Director partners closely with physician leadership, technologists, administrative leaders, and system partners to advance performance, improve throughput, optimize staffing models, and support continuous growth of radiology operations.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $262,044 - $278,059 (Annual Rate). Annual bonus target = 7.5%, maximum 10%

Department Description The Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services including MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography, x-ray, bone densitometry, PET/molecular imaging and molecular therapy, and body and neuro interventional procedures. These services are offered at 15 sites throughout San Francisco including the hospitals and operating rooms at Parnassus Heights, Mission Bay, and Mt. Zion as well as free-standing clinics. Last year the Department of Radiology saw 452,000 patients.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Nursing required
Registered Nurse in the State of California
Strong hospital management experience, with progressive and in-depth expertise in patient care services
Knowledge of hospital / clinic operations in a hospital or medical center setting; knowledge of appropriate professional standards for the department and team
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills to foster and promote an environment for effective communication and collaborative decision making across multiple units and disciplines
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Nursing or relevant area preferred
Certification in Radiology Nursing (CRN) or related specialty
5+ years of progressive nursing leadership experience, preferably in radiology, procedural, perioperative, or critical care settings
Demonstrated experience managing complex operations, staffing models, and clinical workflows in a high-acuity environment
Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing and compliance environments
Strong knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards related to radiology
Strong knowledge of relevant healthcare information technology and patient care workflows and processes
Experience with operational improvement, throughput optimization, and lean methodologies
Excellent leadership, fiscal and operations management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, management and staff from all disciplines
Ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented climate of teamwork, collaboration and consistent achievement of objectives
License/Certification
Registered Nurse in the State of California
