Principal Major Projects Contract Administrator – Pre-Award / Post-Award (2 openings) – Oakland or San Ramon, CA (Hybrid) – Full-Time, Permanent The Major Projects Contract Administrator (Principal Level) roles support the company’s first dedicated procurement function for capital projects. These positions govern contracting strategy, ensure compliance, drive supplier performance, and support delivery of large-scale capital projects. Both roles act as key liaisons between internal stakeholders, suppliers, Legal, and project teams to ensure cost control, risk mitigation, and contractual integrity. Post-Award Role Overview (Principal Level)

The Principal Major Projects Post-Award Contract Administrator is responsible for all contract execution and lifecycle management after award. This includes performance management, change order governance, contract amendments, issue resolution, and contract closeout for major capital projects. Key Responsibilities (Post-Award)

Manage all post-award activities for multiple major project contracts, including change orders, amendments, renewals, and closeouts. Monitor supplier performance for adherence to contract terms, safety requirements, service levels, and cost controls. Support documentation quality, communication pathways, and dispute resolution processes. Develop and enforce post-award contract management work processes, particularly around change order procedures. Lead complex cross-functional contract management activities and provide strategic guidance to senior leadership. Independently negotiate complex contract issues and modifications. Drive continuous improvement of contract administration processes, tools, and governance frameworks. Serve as primary liaison to the Legal Department for contract-related matters. Mentor, train, and support less experienced contract management staff; develop and deliver training across stakeholder groups. Partner closely with Project Management, PMO, Engineering, Construction, and other key leadership groups. Collaborate with other business units to share best practices and align contract methodologies. Provide subject matter expertise in construction project controls, cost estimating, scheduling, and heavy civil contract administration. Lead composition, negotiation, and administration of engineering and construction change orders. Pre-Award Role Overview (Principal Level)

The Principal Major Projects Pre-Award Contract Administrator focuses on developing procurement strategies, leading complex sourcing events, evaluating bids, managing RFP/RFQ processes, negotiating contracts, and ensuring contract documents meet project and organizational requirements before execution. Requirements (Applicable to Both Pre-Award & Post-Award Roles) Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience. Nine (9) years of experience

executing and managing contracts for major heavy civil, pipeline, utility, or industrial construction projects. Demonstrated experience developing and managing complex contracting strategies (EPC, CMAR, PDB, DB, GMP). Strong knowledge of QA/QC for contract documents. Ability to apply business acumen, project management methodologies, and industry best practices. Skilled at managing conflict positively with a focus on win-win outcomes. Knowledge of budgeting, resource planning, contract formulation, bid evaluation, and RFP development. Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging to diverse audiences. Analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to interpret complex information and solve problems effectively. Ability to develop reports, dashboards, models, and simulations. Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload independently based on department priorities. Desired Qualifications

Master’s degree in Construction Management or related field. Relevant certifications such as: PMP Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and contract systems such as SRM, Ariba, SAP, Primavera, or similar tools. Seniority level
