Government and Public Sector – Technology Consulting – Microsoft Functional Lead
Join EY’s Government & Public Sector (GPS) Digital Engineering practice to advise U.S. government agencies on digital strategy, customer experience, process improvement, technology effectiveness, digital architecture and program integration. The role supports implementing Microsoft Dynamics and Power Platform solutions that align with business needs.
Your Key Responsibilities
Translate complex business requirements into detailed functional specifications.
Configure and implement solutions that align with business needs.
Participate in discovery meetings with clients and prospects to understand and document their business requirements.
Propose and design solutions using the extensive Power Platform capabilities to solve the identified business requirements.
Customize Microsoft Dynamics and Power Platform applications.
Work with developers and configuration resources to define and create specifications for any custom code or data migration requirements.
Develop solutions to complex problems and recommend policy changes.
Establish procedures that affect your immediate work area and possibly the broader business function.
Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Train end‑users.
Apply analytical prowess and decision‑making based on a broad understanding of policies.
Guide and develop junior team members.
Manager‑Level Responsibilities
Establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships.
Create innovative insights for clients, adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs, and contribute to thought leadership.
Anticipate and identify risks, and elevate any issues as appropriate.
Develop people through effective supervision, coaching and mentoring, fostering a positive learning culture.
Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff.
Skills And Attributes For Success
Strong leadership skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience in developing solutions to problems.
Prior consulting experience.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Candidate must be able to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
8+ years of related experience.
Proven track record of complex problem‑solving and relationship management.
Strong understanding of agile delivery and development methodologies.
Must be comfortable working in‑person as needed.
Desired Additional Experience
Microsoft Certifications and prior consulting experience highly preferred.
Expertise in developing written and visual communication products.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with clients and identify engagement follow‑on opportunities.
Compensation & Benefits Base salary range for this position in the U.S. is $142,600 to $261,500, adjusted for location. Total rewards include medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a comprehensive paid time‑off package. We offer a flexible hybrid model, with an expectation of 40 – 60 % onsite collaboration for client‑serving roles.
