Physician (Emergency Medicine)
Full‑Time – Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Benning, GA.
Start date: ASAP, ideally before spring/summer 2026.
Salary:
$123k–$350k
Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team as soon as possible. The successful candidate will receive and manage a wide range of cases across a patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric, exercising considerable skill and independent judgment in a fast‑paced emergency department.
Responsibilities
Triage and Diagnosis: Serve as a Medical Officer in the Emergency Room (ER), receiving patients with diverse and complex conditions and accurately diagnosing and treating presentations with indistinct or overlapping symptoms.
Critical Decision‑Making: Make immediate, critical decisions and initiate treatment for difficult emergency cases, including heart attacks, head injuries, lacerations, seizures, and other life‑threatening conditions.
Direct Patient Treatment: Treat the physical condition of patients, administer intravenous fluids for heat exhaustion, prescribe medication, or refer to specialists when necessary.
Surgical Procedures: Perform minor surgery as required, such as incision and drainage of abscesses, hemorrhoids, and suturing lacerations.
Leadership and Supervision: Instruct and supervise other medical personnel, serving as a Senior Specialist and mentor within the department.
Medication Management: Administer and prescribe appropriate medicine and treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Record Keeping: Accurately record all relevant medical data and case history in the Composite Health Care System (CHCS).
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
US Citizenship required.
Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from an accredited medical school.
Residency: Completion of an accredited residency in emergency medicine.
Experience: Board‑certified emergency medicine physician or residency‑trained with 4 years emergency room experience (Family Medicine and potentially internal medicine suitable if experience clause met).
Postgraduate clinical experience in emergency medicine required.
Licensure and Certification: Valid state medical license and current registration to practice.
Board certification or eligibility by ABEM or AOBEM.
Cardio‑Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications highly desirable.
