Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with Level 1 trauma and large hospital experience for an acute care assignment.
Responsibilities Work in an acute care Level 1 trauma hospital OR with 25 suites Handle general, ENT, neuro, and ortho surgical procedures, including robotics (DaVinci preferred) Average 75–100 surgical cases per day with a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio Utilize Epic EMR for charting and document within an electronic record Use a variety of equipment including Accudose, cautery, lasers, laparoscopic, arthroscopy, and Stealth navigation 8 or 10 hour day shifts, 40 hours per week, with required late stays as needed for case coverage On-call required one day per week and one weekend every 3 to 4 weeks May float to other campuses in rare instances Primary duties include circulating, sterile prepping, catheter insertion, opening sterile supplies, patient positioning, and equipment setup All clinicians must badge in and out while onsite Epic charting experience strongly preferred Ceil blue scrubs are provided Travelers must reside at least 60 miles from the facility; local rates apply within 60–80 miles First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Requirements Active ND or compact RN license in hand Current BLS certification required Minimum 2 years recent OR RN experience in acute hospitals with 250+ beds and Level 1 trauma status Experience in facilities with 15 or more OR suites; outpatient-only experience not accepted Experience with robotics (DaVinci preferred), neuro, ortho, and navigation procedures No prior permanent employment at the same health system within the last 6 months
