Job Description NBCUniversal LATAM International Networks & Direct-to-Consumer is seeking a driven and dynamic candidate to join our expanding Finance organization. The Director of Accounting will be a key member of LATAM’s accounting team, supporting the continued growth across Latin America. This role ensures integrity of financial results, drives operational excellence, and supports strategic initiatives across a diverse and complex regional footprint. Leadership Build relationships with key stakeholders, including OpCo functional leads, local accounting teams, and corporate finance. Supervise external accounting firms to meet internal deadlines and tax compliance. Maintain strong communication channels with vendors, customers, and local agencies. Drive the region‑specific accounting strategy to align with business needs. Build a highly engaged team through active coaching. Financial Reporting Lead monthly financial close for all LATAM legal entities. Manage journal entries, intercompany entries, and business unit reviews. Support multiple P&L owners with analysis and backlog review. Identify and communicate risks and opportunities impacting results. Ensure payroll processes and reconciliations operate smoothly. Operational Excellence Lead regional accounting operations across multiple entities. Drive process improvements, manage third‑party partners, and lead ad‑hoc projects. Establish financial governance and ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements. Act as the primary liaison with corporate tax, legal, auditors, and local authorities. Oversee AP, AR, and cash management strategies. Provide strategic oversight of vendor management and operational support across payments, invoicing, payroll, and T&E compliance. Maintain accountability within the accounting team. Transformation Lead end‑to‑end implementation of SAP S/4HANA across LATAM. Recommend process changes, systems, and workflow automation. Drive continuous improvements and innovations. Initiate and drive projects to enhance internal controls over financial reporting. Lead project planning and execution of critical business projects. Qualifications Basic Requirements Degree in accounting with a post‑graduate accounting qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent) and Big‑4 experience. At least 8 years of relevant accounting experience in US GAAP, with knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP). Managerial or leadership experience with proven change‑management and problem‑solving skills. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus. Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience with accounting in multi‑currency and multi‑statutory environments. High standard of accuracy and control consistency. Process improvement mindset and proactive change recommendation. Self‑motivated, self‑directed, and able to work under pressure. Interpersonal skills to develop relationships at all levels. Proficient in advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data modeling). Desired Characteristics US corporation and entertainment industry experience advantageous. Understanding of media sector preferred, but not essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment. Highly energetic and able to meet tight deadlines. Agile, resilient, inquisitive attitude. Proactive, solution‑focused, and strong prioritization. Team player with a strong work ethic and ownership mindset. Experience with tools such as BlackLine, Power BI, Tableau, Hyperion, BPC, Analysis for Office.
