Position Summary
The First Five program provides trauma‑informed care to support children and families by strengthening and enhancing services in early learning centers. First Five helps early learning center teachers create a trauma‑informed culture in their classrooms. Through classroom observation, the program identifies children needing behavioral support. The role is a professional leadership position that works in a team approach to decrease the number of children not meeting early childhood learning standards, utilizing a solution‑focused, family‑centered approach and evidence‑based practices to assist teachers and families in meeting needs and preventing potential risk for abuse, neglect, and abandonment. The Director will oversee masters‑prepared clinicians, intensive case managers, SME and IDT facilitators, guide short‑term intervention services to at‑risk children and families, and facilitate service delivery to improve the child’s development, learning, educational, and behavioral health needs. The position is field‑based and may include on‑call coverage after hours and weekends.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited university with two (2) years of supervisory experience, and at least 2 years of experience working with at‑risk populations, including families experiencing substance misuse, domestic violence, mental health, and emotionally disturbed children.
- Florida Licensed Psychologist or Board‑Certified Behavioral Analyst required, maintained throughout employment at the Team Member’s expense.
- Previous behavioral health/child welfare experience and/or certification is preferred.
