Position Overview & Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will lead all financial functions across the organization, including:
Full oversight of finance and accounting operations: budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, monthly financial cycles.
Revenue-cycle leadership: patient access, billing, collections, denials, cost reporting, and the integration of AI-supported workflow enhancements.
Board-level financial reporting, pro-forma modeling, scenario planning for growth initiatives.
Reimbursement strategy and payer contracting, including mastery of CMS/CAH cost-based methodologies.
Vendor contract negotiation and management, performance oversight, and external partnerships.
Financial leadership to support ongoing and future service-line expansion (e.g., outpatient, surgical, imaging, swing-bed utilization, infusion services).
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required; CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
Minimum 3 years in a CFO or VP of Finance role within a hospital, CAH, or ambulatory care setting; rural healthcare experience preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in CMS reimbursement regulations and CAH-specific cost reporting and financial modeling.
Proven track record in managing and optimizing full revenue-cycle operations, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
Experience leading finance operations through major organizational change — such as EMR transitions or facility upgrades — and managing complex financial workflows.
Comfort with using modern financial tools and analytics (AI, ERP, financial dashboards), and ability to work collaboratively across clinical, operational, and administrative teams.
Compensation & Incentives
Salary range: $165,000 – $200,000, commensurate with credentials and experience.
