Job Description
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada (BGCSNV) Executive Team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) oversees the management of all financial functions including accounting, payroll, financial planning, internal/external reporting, internal controls/compliance, grant billing, and 401(k) administration. The CFO is also responsible for the establishment and management of the organizational budget, the budget process, and forecasting revenues and expenses.
The Essential Job Duties For This Role Include
- Manage and oversee all financial operations of the organization including accounting, budgeting, payroll, forecasting, financial analysis, cash flow management, and processing of day‑to‑day transactions.
- Develop and implement financial strategies and processes that support BGCSNV’s mission and goals. Ensure compliance with all financial reporting and regulatory requirements, including tax filings and audits.
- Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support strategic decision making. Contribute to the organization’s strategic plan through collaboration with BGCSNV’s Executive Team.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the Executive Team and/or Board of Directors, including regular updates on budget performance, forecasts, and financial risks/opportunities.
- Develop and oversee the budgeting process, working closely with program managers and other stakeholders to develop realistic and achievable budgets, including income estimates and spending allocations. Monitor actual performance against budget and provide regular updates and analysis to the CEO and Board of Directors. Develop and maintain financial forecasting models that support long‑term financial planning and decision‑making.
- Ensure accurate requests for grant payment/billing are submitted in a timely manner and monitor grant budget compliance to maximize revenue to organization. Fulfill financial role of fiscal agent for any state alliance funds/grants managed by BGCSNV.
- Maintain BGCSNV compliance in all financial areas including the implementation and maintenance of internal controls.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, And/or Abilities
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a field related to the listed responsibilities such as accounting, finance, or business administration. Master’s degree preferred.
- CPA license active within the past 5 years.
- A minimum of five years of senior management or executive level experience in non-profit administration is preferred. The best candidate will possess a well‑documented and successful history in such roles as a major part of their relevant experience.
- Thorough knowledge of budgeting and generally accepted accounting principles, processes and procedures or equivalent experience.
- An organized, focused, and goal‑oriented personality coupled with a high level of initiative, energy, and ability to work independently.
- Superior oral and written communication skills. Superior attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines with time constraints and manage multiple projects at a time.
- Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills. Ability to interact professionally with the public, vendors, and other professional staff.
- A high level of personal and professional integrity, with an ability to inspire confidence and cooperation.
- Ability to work occasional irregular or extended hours.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft and/or Google suite of productivity applications (Word, Excel, Forms, Outlook, etc.) along with appropriate financial software experience.

Compensation: $130,000 annually. Eligible for full-time benefits after the first day of the month following 60 days of employment.
