The Difference You Will Make
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the overall financial health, stability, and strategic direction of Millcraft. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), this role partners closely with the executive leadership team to develop, implement, and monitor financial strategies that support profitable growth, operational efficiency, and long‑term business sustainability.
The CFO provides executive oversight for all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, capital management, treasury, risk management, and compliance. The role requires a deep understanding of corporate finance and capital structure, with demonstrated experience in investment banking, asset‑based lending (ABL) environments, mergers and acquisitions, and turnaround situations. The CFO will also maintain and expand strategic relationships with the Cleveland‑area banking community to support the company’s capital and financing needs.

Core Functions of This Role
- Maintain executive responsibility for financial operations, including working capital, capital expenditures, taxes, budget, and general accounting.
- Develop and direct financial plans in alignment with the strategic business plan, company growth, and market opportunities.
- Drive strategic thinking around revenue, expense management, and EBITDA growth.
- Establish and maintain stable cash‑flow management policies and procedures; collaborate with finance leadership to create efficient strategies.
- Set up and/or oversee all financial and operational controls and KPIs within the organization.
- Analyze current and future business operations and plans to determine financial effectiveness.
- Prepare financial reports to ensure compliance.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- 10+ years of progressive experience within senior‑level finance roles in a medium or large‑size company (experience in distribution, closely held private companies, and family businesses is a plus).
- CPA designation and Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or MBA (Certified Management Accountant or Chartered Financial Analyst are also a plus).
- Well versed in corporate and personal tax to work effectively with tax advisors representing both corporate and ownership interests.
- Strong knowledge of all aspects of private company accounting.
- Proven ability to lead budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
- Expertise in cost accounting, inventory valuation, and margin analysis.
- Solid background in supply‑chain finance, procurement, and working‑capital optimization.
- Skilled in risk management, internal controls, and corporate governance, audits.
- Strong financial modeling and performance analysis skills.
- Effective communicator with experience engaging the executive team.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing high‑performing finance and operations teams.

- Achievement of corporate EBITDA targets.
- Managing expenses as a percent of gross profit.
- Working‑capital management and investment.
- Free cash flow generated from operating business.
- Return on Capital Employed – maintaining the right balance of debt/equity to maximize returns while ensuring corporate flexibility.
- Risk management (bad‑debt write‑offs versus total AR and obsolete inventory as a percent of total inventory).
