Job Summary
Location: Nebraska Methodist College, 720 N. 87th St., Omaha, NE
The Vice President of Academic Affairs serves as the College’s strategic leader, providing primary administrative leadership, direction, and evaluation for faculty. The VPAA collaborates with the President to promote excellence in all aspects of the College’s mission, maintain academic standards, and foster a culture of learning, innovation, and inclusivity.
Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership for the institution’s academic programs, ensuring alignment with the college’s mission, vision, and values.
- Oversee faculty affairs, including recruiting, hiring, promotion, and professional development.
- Collaborate with student affairs to enhance student support services and improve student success outcomes.
- Work with faculty and departments to develop and assess curriculum, ensuring rigor and relevance.
- Lead The Learning Center, developing educational programs for faculty, students, and staff, and managing its budget.
- Maintain the integrity of academic records through the Registrar’s office and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Develop and manage budgets related to academic affairs, faculty development, and student services.
- Implement strategic plans to advance academic priorities and respond to emerging opportunities.
- Champion innovative technologies and pedagogical approaches to enhance academic capabilities.
- Represent the college in the community and establish partnerships with external organizations.
- Foster an inclusive campus community celebrating diversity and equity.
- Engage with the Board of Directors, providing reports and recommendations on academic affairs.
Schedule
Full time, business hours. Evenings and weekends as necessary.
Job Requirements
Education
- Ph.D. or Ed.D. in a relevant field of study required.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of demonstrated experience in developing innovative credit and non-credit educational opportunities.
- Proven experience in strategic planning, resource management, and budget oversight.
- Previous success in an academic role such as Dean or Department Chair.
