Position Summary

The Director of Sales will lead sales for both The Sitio and external sales for Atlantic Park Surf. The Sitio is a brand new 20‑room boutique hotel located in the Atlantic Park development here in Virginia Beach. "Sitio" meaning place, is somewhere we want our guests to feel is all theirs, whether they are here to feel inspired, take a break, or simply enjoy the surf, we want The Sitio to feel like it is a place made just for them.

This role focuses on booking and organizing hotel buyouts (brand and influencer events, corporate groups, etc.), group bookings, and hotel events across our unique venues from the oceanfront to the park’s surf lagoon, pool deck, and production spaces. In addition to selling lodging, this role will spearhead efforts to secure private surf sessions and park buyouts at Atlantic Park Surf — North America’s first Wave Garden Cove surf lagoon.

Our ideal candidate is obsessively organized, has a natural sense of hospitality and customer service, a strong instinct and drive for sales, an interest in surfing or action sports sales, and a passion for all things events (both glamorous and behind‑the‑scenes). You’re a dreamer AND a doer, highly professional, endlessly kind, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment. You’re equally at home in a strategy meeting as you are walking clients through a site tour.

Most of all, you have the confidence, motivation, and natural excitement to "own" and grow The Sitio and Atlantic Park Surf sales and events world, knowing that the respective department’s success and growth opportunities are as good as you make them.

Education & Experience

  • Experienced in hotel and or event sales, ideally within boutique, luxury, or resort settings.
  • A relationship‑driven professional who enjoys networking and cultivating repeat business.
  • Skilled in handling full‑property buyouts and complex group bookings.
  • Comfortable leading pre‑opening initiatives and developing a new property’s sales identity.
  • Collaborative, organized, and motivated by creating meaningful guest experiences.
  • Passionate about the Virginia Beach lifestyle and community connections.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales and revenue goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with PMS, POS, and CRM systems required.
  • Adobe Suite a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs. regularly.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and move comfortably for up to eight (8) hours.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening, hearing ability, and visual acuity.
