About Us
One Medical is a primary care solution challenging the industry status quo by making quality care more affordable, accessible and enjoyable. We’re on a mission to transform healthcare, improving the experience for patients, providers, employers and health networks. Our in-office and 24/7 virtual care services, on-site labs, and programs for preventive care, chronic care management, common illnesses and mental health concerns have been delivering results for years. In February 2023 we joined Amazon to deliver care to more people and continue to grow a diverse, driven and empathetic team.
The Opportunity
As a Phlebotomist/Administrative Assistant at one of our offices, you’ll provide an exceptional patient experience by performing venipuncture and other clinical support services. You will be an ambassador for patients, removing barriers to care and ensuring the lobby space looks and feels on brand with the One Medical experience. You will be the first point of contact for patients and provide other support as requested by the Practice Coordinator, Operations Manager, or providers. Flex team members support multiple office locations.
You are a strong team player with problem solving skills, combining excellent specimen collection technique with tactful interpersonal communication. You have strong verbal and written communication, identify opportunities and deliver customer-centric solutions with empathy and service. You thrive in feedback-focused, growth-oriented environments and are nimble in responding to patient and team needs. If this sounds like you, we would love to connect.
What You’ll Likely Work On
- Use impeccable C-I-CARE in all patient interactions (clinical and administrative) to ensure a fluid and positive in-office experience, including patient intake, same-day schedule management, follow-up scheduling, knowledge of billing and insurance, monitoring patient feedback, and outreach as necessary

- Perform and assist with extended scope duties such as non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs
- Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling and processing, inventory upkeep, and instrument sterilization
- Support members beyond the lab by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting providers and the virtual medical team with clerical duties (e.g., biometric screening forms, medical records review, billing inquiries, DOH reporting)
- Handle front-of-house duties including check-in/check-out, insurance verification, printing/paperwork tasks, prepping tests, and tasking to service level expectations
- Contribute to team development through rounding, team huddles, problem solving, and ad hoc support for in-office providers
- Perform opening and closing duties and daily office upkeep, including maintaining space aesthetics, restocking supplies, and organization
- Master our technology tools (e.g., Slack, G-suite, Zoom, Circulation, RingCentral, EMR) to interact with team members and complete daily work
These responsibilities describe the general nature of the work and are not exhaustive. Additional duties may be assigned by management.
