Position: Ophthalmologist (San Francisco Based)

Referral Partner: Crossing Hurdles

Type: Hourly contract

Compensation: $160–$180 per hour

Location: San Francisco (In-person only)

Commitment: Part-time, up to 10 hours/week

Duration: Ongoing, flexibility based on availability

Role Responsibilities

• Review, annotate, and label ophthalmology clinical data, reports & imaging files
• Audit annotations and validate AI-generated outputs for medical accuracy
• Provide guidance on taxonomy, edge‑cases, labeling standards & documentation
• Evaluate and score model recommendations; identify discrepancies and errors
• Contribute to documentation, onboarding notes, and workflow standardization

Ideal Qualifications

• MD/DO specializing in Ophthalmology (Board‑eligible or board‑certified)
• Active medical license in good standing
• 2+ years clinical experience (medical or surgical ophthalmology)
• Strong understanding of ocular diseases & imaging (OCT, Fundus, FA, etc.)
• Familiarity with ophthalmic EHR systems & medical terminology (ICD‑10/CPT/SNOMED)
• Interest in medical AI, labeling, annotation, or informatics is a bonus
