Description
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing plant operations, managing production activities, and leading employees to ensure the organization operates safely, efficiently, and effectively.
Key Responsibilities

Oversees daily scheduling and coordinates all production activities on the Production Floor.
Supervises the production activities of the packaging department and assists in solving complex business problems.
Creates, modifies, maintains daily production schedules, ensures high-quality standards, accuracy, and timeliness are met in customer orders.
Ensures that production goals and deadlines are met.
Ensures proper product rotation schedule is followed by the employees.
Ensures departments are staffed appropriately while optimizing departmental efficiencies.
Reviews production efficiencies and evaluates improvements to achieve optimum operations.
Provides employees with coaching and development training.
Resolves employee issues in coordination with the HR Manager and utilizes progressive coaching techniques.
Conducts employee performance reviews.
Strives for continuous improvement in all processes (safety, quality, productivity, cost).
Maintains training documentation for all direct reports in SQF including Food Safety and GMP's systems.
Communicates, administers, and enforces company rules, policies, and procedures consistently and equitably.
Confirms employees understand their departmental priorities and goals.
Proactive management of the staffing plan and coordination of training of appropriate personnel to minimize downtime and create cross-training opportunities.
Tracks production efficiencies and evaluates improvements to achieve optimum operations.
Evaluates recurring problems and provides long-term business solutions.
Maintains communication with other departments, including Maintenance, Warehouse, Sanitation and Quality.
Implements and ensures compliance with all Food Safety policies as applicable.
Complies with company safety policies and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Education and Formal Training
A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a production role.
A minimum of three (3) years as a supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP Systems
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines with changing priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Thorough understanding of operations policies and practices.
Works well with all levels of the organization.
Focus on continuous improvement within all areas of the plant.
Maintains a safe working environment.
Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.
