Manufacturing Engineer III+ – Karman Space & Defense Mukilteo, WA Summary The Manufacturing Engineering role is a key part of the product development process – responsible for ensuring product producibility and robustness of process throughout the product lifecycle. Key involvement includes design for manufacturability early in the product development; ensuring intrinsic quality built‑in to the product through robust processes; and supporting continuous improvement and maintenance throughout the production cycle. The Manufacturing Engineer focuses on driving manufacturability aspects through engineering and production activity while continuing to build essential skills and experience. Reports to the IPT Lead. Compensation & Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision Company Paid Life Insurance 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays Tuition Reimbursement* What You Will Do Integral part of product design team with primary responsibilities for DFMA Mentors junior manufacturing engineers Responsible for establishing, monitoring and validating production processes and controls – process owner or subject matter expert on critical processes Designs, develops and implements complex and critical forms of fixtures, tools, and inspection gauges to facilitate fabrication and assembly Instrumental in material and resource planning and coordinating with the Product team to ensure schedules are kept Leads manufacturing workflow planning and production line setup Solves complex technical problems utilizing technical reference materials and various inspection tools and techniques Collaborates with all levels of other engineering disciplines in representing manufacturing engineering What We Are Looking For Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree. Minimum 4 years relative industry experience Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on engineering experience in a fabrication and assembly shop environment Ability to read and generate blueprints, drawings, and technical diagrams Familiarity with basic material properties, in‑process verification and validation Proficiency in GD&T U.S. citizenship 3>EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities.
