Duties include:Take orders from customers and dispense product, such as ice, soda, whipped juice, coffee, etc.Suggest certain products to customers to increase salesOperate cash register; make change as requiredClean countertops and equipment, as requiredClean and sanitize hot chocolate machine, whipper, coffee urn, etc.Set-up display, as directedStock shelves with food in the sales areaCheck stock of food and suppliesNotify supervisor of needs and follow-up if not received on timeNotify supervisor of variations in operations, individual product sales and customer complaints and suggestion to maximize product useDirect the work of part-time employees in the various phases of bakery sales operationPrepare and operate oven, pretzel oven, hot chocolate dispenser, whipper and coffee urnReplenish hot chocolate and juice whipping machines, napkin dispensers, etc. , as necessaryPick-up cash drawer at the beginning of the day; set-up cash register for operationTurn in cash drawer at the end of the dayReport need for maintenance of equipment, furnishings, etc.Secure work area at end of the dayMaintain work area in a clean and orderly conditionJob Requirements: Requires the use of commercial English, grammar and arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, including decimals and fractions; simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams, together with the use of adjustable measuring instruments, graduates and the like requiring interpretation in their various applications; or the posting, preparation, interpretation, use and checking of reports, forms, records and comparable data. 3 to 6 months effective of effective experience, preferably in retail sales.Work Schedule: Sunday 10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday 2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.Days Off: Friday, SaturdayQUALIFICATIONSMINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE3 to 6 months of effective experience, preferably in retail sales REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONSNoneBACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCESEmployment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.Penn State does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of a staff employment Visa.
