Head Coach – Athletic Coaches The Lansing School District serves over 10,000 PreK-12 students across 25 school buildings in the increasingly diverse urban community of Lansing, MI. In the pursuit of our mission, we are hiring athletic coaches. These individuals will be responsible for supporting their team(s) success, including in the classroom. The coach will recruit a full team, coach a competitive record, ensure academic success, and lead in‑season tutoring per MHSAA policies.

Base pay range $1,877.00/once - $8,919.00/once

Responsibilities

Lead and support your team(s) throughout the entire season

Recruit a full team of players by the first day of the season, including running competitive tryouts if necessary

Coach your team(s) to a winning record, with the goal of reaching and excelling in postseason play

Ensure all your players are academically eligible and successful throughout the entire season

Organize and communicate consistent practice and competitive game schedules in collaboration with the Athletic Director

Maintain and distribute team equipment and jerseys at the beginning and end of the season

Organize and operate offseason conditioning, training, and clinics for both team members and community members

Abide by all MHSAA policies and regulations

Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission

Minimum Qualifications

Previous successful coaching experience

Knowledge of high‑quality coaching tactics and practice drills

Knowledge of MHSAA & LSD rules and policies

CPR Certification & first aid training

Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values

Preferred Qualifications

Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate

Successful NCAA athletic career
