Scripps Mercy Hospital, established in 1890, is the oldest medical center in San Diego County. The Hillcrest campus hosts a Level I Trauma Center, an emergency department, physical rehabilitation, robotic surgery, and a childbirth unit with a Level II neonatal intensive care unit. The hospital is ranked by U.S. News & World Report for orthopedics, heart attack, heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, prostate cancer surgery, and stroke care.
This full‑time vascular sonographer position requires 80 hours per pay period (10‑hour varied shifts). The role demands flexibility for weekends, evenings, and call rotation and is based at the Hillcrest campus.
Responsibilities Perform vascular ultrasound examinations, manage patient care in a high‑volume emergency and inpatient setting, and maintain patient safety and quality of care throughout the shift.
Compensation & Incentives Base pay: $59.81 to $86.71 per hour. New hire incentive available up to $4,000 for eligible candidates.
Required Qualifications
Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of vascular experience
Neurovascular ultrasound experience
Doppler experience
Completion of a CAAHEP accredited program or AS degree in Vascular Ultrasound
Incentive Eligibility
Internal candidates are not eligible
Rehires who left Scripps less than 3 years ago are not eligible
New graduates must have at least 1 year of experience
Retention Incentive Requirements
Remain in original FTE status and shift
Remain in original department/specialty
Remain in original job title
Transfers to other locations may result in forfeiture of remaining incentive
