Pay Range Base pay: $37.00 - $54.18 per hour. All pay ranges are provided by the University of Maryland Medical System and may vary based on skills and experience.
Responsibilities
Serve as a competent and fully participating member of the multidisciplinary patient care services team.
Practice nursing professional standards in the unit and adhere to UMMC Professional Nurse Job Charter guidelines.
Provide and coordinate patient care within a clinical specialty, ensuring patient and family accountability for processes and outcomes during the episode of care.
Engage in unit governance and advance group practice; account to the nurse manager for total work performance.
Participate in development and implementation of strategies to improve patient outcomes, satisfaction, and cost effectiveness at the unit level.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Maryland (or eligibility through compact state agreements).
Minimum of 12 months experience as a registered nurse.
Successful completion of probation and required educational activities (10 contact hours of education per year).
Member of a professional nursing organization.
Proficiency in leading teams, precepting, or serving as a clinical resource.
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; ability to use computer systems to manage patient information.
Understanding of growth principles and ability to assess patient needs across the lifespan.
Patient Safety
Ensures patient safety in all job functions and participates in safety initiatives.
Takes action to correct observed safety risks.
Reports adverse events and near misses to appropriate management authority.
Identifies and communicates possible risks in processes, procedures, and devices.
