Visiting Research Specialist Position Summary The University of Illinois Chicago Retzky College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice, is seeking a Visiting Research Specialist to join Dr. Paola Rosas’ laboratory, supported by NIH and AHA funding. The role contributes to the design and delivery of research projects focused on heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and metabolic disorders in postmenopausal women, utilizing murine models, non‑invasive and invasive cardiac function techniques, and biochemical analysis via Western blotting and SDS‑PAGE. Location : Chicago, IL, USA Salary : $40,000 – $50,000 Requisition ID : 1038351 Posting Close Date : 01/23/2026 Duties & Responsibilities

Maintain mouse colonies and perform genotyping. Conduct laboratory experiments, including isolation of protein for biochemical analysis via Western blotting and SDS‑PAGE. Collaborate with the PI to develop objectives and design research projects focused on heart failure and cardiometabolic diseases. Test, optimize, and implement both new and existing methods/techniques. Assist the PI in generating data and figures for grant applications and manuscripts. Supervise and train students. Aid in the preparation and implementation of general laboratory maintenance protocols (e.g. safety, training, waste management, animal, etc.). Assist with ordering lab supplies and maintaining laboratory stock and inventories. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in science or related field required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years related research experience. Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods. Proficient in specific lab research techniques.
