The NEWABH Employment Program is seeking a dedicated and people-centered Job Specialist to support individuals with developmental disabilities and other significant barriers in achieving meaningful employment and community involvement.
In this role, you'll guide participants from initial outreach and enrollment through assessment, service planning, skill-building, job development, and successful program exit. Your work ensures participants progress through their individualized plans in a timely, goal-driven manner while maintaining accurate documentation, case notes, and required reporting.
As a Job Specialist, you'll also deliver hands-on job coaching using a place–train–maintain model, supporting individuals and employers to ensure successful long-term employment outcomes. You'll conduct job analyses, tailor training plans, collaborate with employers and coworkers, help resolve workplace challenges, and develop career advancement strategies.
In addition, you'll implement Community Inclusion services by helping individuals connect with integrated community settings, identify meaningful activities, build natural supports, and participate in volunteer or civic engagement opportunities aligned with their interests and goals.
This position also plays an exciting role in community outreach, helping educate Ferry, Lincoln, and Stevens Counties about developmental disabilities and available resources. You may support events such as resource fairs, transition councils, and public awareness activities.
