Job Summary The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting central pharmacists and technicians in the delivery of medications and pharmaceutical products under direct supervision of a Pharmacist. Documents and updates documentation on various pharmaceutical products that are loaded in the automated dispensing machines. Communicates with pharmacy staff and nurses about medication when necessary and appropriate.

Education Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

Required Licensure, Certification, On-going Training Current registration with the District of Columbia Board of Pharmacy for DC as a Pharmacy Technician. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certified, or obtain PTCB certification within 1 year of hire. Licensure required. PTCB for pharmacy students can be waived for those who have an active Pharmacist Intern License.

Work Experience Six months of previous hospital experience

preferred.

Shift PRN/Casual, Rotating schedule that includes weekends & holiday work.

Salary Range Minimum29.00/hour - Maximum 29.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
